Compatible with Heat Pumps
Heat Pumps can reduce carbon emissions by up to 60% compared to condensing boilers and are viewed as key contributors to environmentally sustainable design. Heat pumps are becoming increasingly favoured in UK planning applications, supporting Low Carbon Standards, and aiding compliance with the Code for Sustainable Homes and Part L Building Regulations. Both the Profix® panel and the Profix® PLUS panel can be used as part of a low temperature / low carbon warm-water underfloor heating system powered by either an Air Source Heat Pump(ASHP)or a Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP).
Energy Efficiency
Warm-water underfloor heating systems use up to 40% less energy than traditional radiators. Traditional radiators typically operate at temperatures between 65-75 °C, whereas a warm-water underfloor heating system can operate efficiently at a much lower temperature, consuming significantly less energy. All Profix® underfloor heating systems distribute heat evenly throughout the room, providing warmth from the floor up, without any cold spots.
Low Maintenance
A key benefit of radiant warm-water underfloor heating is that, once installed, systems require minimal ongoing maintenance, making them effortless to run. Warm -water underfloor systems only require an occasional review to ensure everything is continuing to run as it should be.
Greater Freedom of Design
A major benefit of warm-water underfloor heating is that it provides much greater design freedom. All Profix® and Profix® PLUS underfloor heating systems are discrete floor heating solutions, with all pipework hidden beneath the floor. This provides greater design freedom, removing unsightly radiators and freeing up wall space, ideal for modern open plan living.
Safety and Comfort
As underfloor heating is hidden beneath the floor surface, it removes the sharp edges and hot surfaces associated with radiators. This makes it safer for use in households with young children or elderly family members. In addition, radiant heating is much better for a room’s air quality as it avoids the thermal circulation associated with radiators which causes dust to continually circle within the room.
Fast Installation
Profix® and Profix® PLUS systems are fast-fix solutions. Both panels incorporate features in their design, including self-adhesive backing, V-notch channels to simplify cutting the panels to size using just a Stanley knife, purpose made locking features to fasten the panels together during installation, and multiple pipe-retaining clips to ensure the UFH pipework is always held securely in place at the correct pipe centres. In addition, their unique patented design helps protect the pipework during installation. What’s more, both panels can be installed on solid floors, suspended timber floors, or as part of an acoustic floor heating solution on separating floors.
