Low Energy Underfloor Heating
Low Carbon Heating Systems UK
The UK has committed to becoming carbon neutral (Net Zero) by 2050. With 20% of UK carbon emissions produced by heating buildings, low carbon / low temperature heating systems will be key to achieving this commitment. As production of electricity becomes cleaner through the increased use of renewable energy sources, it is clear the government views heat pumps as being an integral part of the solution.
Both the Profix® and Profix® PLUS underfloor heating panels can be used as part of a low carbon / low temperature warm-water underfloor heating system using heat pumps. An air source heat pump (ASHP) can save up to 60% carbon emissions compared to a condensing boiler.
Both the Profix® and Profix® PLUS panel enable a thin screed warm-water underfloor heating solution to be achieved. When powered by a heat pump, this ‘future-proofed’ low energy underfloor heating solution is capable of delivering high heat outputs even at low water temperatures. With build-ups starting from just 15mm, a thin floor heating solution is now achievable for both new build and retrofit projects.
